COUGH SUPPRESSANTS
Cough suppressants, such as Dextromethorphan, are used to give symptomatic relief from coughs due to upper respiratory tract inflammation or infection. They are best used for nonproductive hacking coughs that strain the throat and chest, or keep one from sleeping or resting. The medication works by depressing the cough center in the brain.
