EXPECTORANTS
Expectorants, such as glyceryl guaiacolate, help loosen and thin mucous in the secretions of inflamed bronchial tubes. In other words, they make thick phlegm thinner and easier to cough out. Expectorants work by stimulating the cells that line the bronchial tubes to secrete more liquid.
